“Being an avid vinyl collector & DJ, Hang Dai’s founder, Will, wanted to create a space inspired by Japanese listening bars. As most listening bars in Japan have a large sound system in the centre of the room with everything focused around it, we needed to address the challenge of multiple speakers within the confines of such a narrow space. Because this was a restaurant primarily, we needed to create a clean dispersion of sound around the entire space. I came up with a concept that used traditional styles of Japanese sound systems but built them with modern components and processing amplifiers so the system is reliable and durable in a restaurant environment.”
