“A man by the neame of Paddy is behind the Connolly’s, a legendary music venue from the 90’s. Everybody has a. story about a gig there and some huge names have played there, it’s an extremely special place. When Paddy’s son Sam reopened the venue he didn’t have much in the way of gear so I lent him a sound system I’d built for festivals. After 6 months he commissioned me to build something for the space.
This was the beginning of the mission statement I suppose. Sam asked me to build something visual, something sculptural & it has become a signature piece for the venue. He was very accommodating to the fact that this was new for me and he just said ‘Let’s figure it out together”
